A man in a tux....  always.  That floor and bathroom... perfection.  Oversized black shades, white eyelet and red lipstick.... classics.  That entrance.... stunning.  That quote.... spot on.  That little polka dot number... needs to be Marlowe's Easter dress and then needs to be framed as a piece of art... Those cookies.... yes, please!

This color has been happily popping up in my life recently... in the blooming wisteria in our village; on the label of my new favorite breakfast condiment, lavender miel; to a Mother's Day gift; a new tank; and these beautiful blooms my husband brought home to me Monday (perfectly coinciding with our first opportunity to dine al fresco)..... lilac epitomizes the word "lovely" in my book.

Over the weekend, I spotted this dress by Michael Kors....

..... a modern take on a classic color combination..... I think Princess Kate needs this, no?

My admitted obsession with navy combined with the new Pantone color of the year has me fondly reminiscing about this traditionally preppy palette in interiors, fashion, flowers, food.... you name it....

Color Burst: Yellow

January days can leave one feeling rather dreary....... and I haven't been helping things with all of my talk about being sick..... no more, I promise!  Dreaming of blue skies and this cheerful hue today..... so thankful the daylight hours are on the rise!

Sea Glass.......

A little inspiration by way of sea glass today.  I am in a state of perpetual amazement at the beauty found in nature and of God breathed color palettes.   I've never been to a beach that has sea glass but it's on my bucket list to get there and collect some one day.

Feeling Blue....

...... not in your usual January doldrums way...... but in a way that speaks of clear blue skies, cool breezes, and majestic ocean waters.  We've been blessed in my neck of the woods with an unusual number of brilliant blue sky days lately in what is normally a gray dreary backdrop to the Winter.  It's has brightened my spirits and put a spring in my step that I sometimes have a hard time mustering this time of year.

I love all shades of this magnificent color.  And while this color combination makes me feel warm and cozy; rich, saturated blues always illicit in me a sense of a universally shared goodness found in nature, positivity, cleanliness, possibility..... and a tad bit of wanderlust.

So while Pantone's color of the year may be tangerine;  I'm declaring mine Swedish Blue 18-4330.
