The Perfect Bed

Unfortunately, a lot of folks are spending an inordinate amount of time in their bed these days.  There truly is nothing better than climbing into bed when you are feeling ill or at the end of a long day; unless, ofcourse, your bed isn't up to specs in comfort.  I consider sleeping a worthy and honorable hobby for parents of young children. :)..... and these elements equal sweet dreams in my book:

Feeling Sheepish?......

....... a lot of cafes in Europe are.  And, who can blame them for trying to extend the longevity of outdoor dining by enticing customers with comfort and warmth in sheepskin adorned chairs?  

seems to be trending indoors as well.......

..... I have to admit that while I love it outdoors,  I'm not completely sold on moving my sheepskin from the floor to the chair indoors...... however, I'm pretty sure my tween daughter would love it on the ghost chair in her room.  Thanks to Ikea, it's an inexpensive trend to try-out.

Ikea Lately: Holiday Decor

I know some folks find it slightly bothersome to see Christmas decorations out in October but I can't help but feel anything other than joyful anticipation the first time I spy them each year.  I was especially delighted yesterday when I laid eyes on Ikea's offerings this season....... oh my goodness..... stripes, polka dots and gingham... throw in some twine,  kraft paper and amaryllis bulbs....... can you say "Hallelujah Chorus"? :)    

The website really does not do justice to what's available in store (at least here in Switzerland).  If you'd like to get in the spirit, I'd suggest you check it out ...... my guess is everything is going to be sold out in no time!

Interiors: IKEA Lately

........ I had to make a run to IKEA last evening to return a couple of things and, ofcourse, I couldn't resist a quick look-see.  Our store is in the midst of a change-over but I couldn't help noting (with much glee) that navy and varying shades of blue seem to predominate some of their new offerings.  And, while I'm not sure if these drapes qualify as "new"; they stopped me in my tracks:

Now, normally, I wouldn't be attracted to a pattern like this (it's not a stripe or gingham, after all :)).... but they just looked so pretty hanging there in their linen goodness for $59/pair.  I picked up some to try in one of my daughters' rooms in Switzerland; but  I can't help but think they would look really great in a small breakfast room, perhaps styled with these other pieces I love from IKEA:

light fixture/glass/plate/wood-handled flatware/placemat/chair/table/lantern/pillar candle/plant stand/succulents/drapes
