Postcards from....

Last weekend we made a road trip to enjoy the last of the warm days in Tuscany.  We were just a few weeks shy of seeing the huge swathes of sunflowers in full bloom but the nonetheless, the barren fields and star filled night sky leant an air of serenity and relaxation that I haven't felt anywhere else (translation.... I slept like a baby)...

volterra, italy
see that pizzeria?  my guy ate there twice.... nonni and her husband were firing up some  tasty pies and lively chatter to the locals while squeezing us tourists in...
Yes, it leans indeed!
Andrea Bocelli's Teatro del Silenzio where he performs once a year...  this may be going on my bucket list...
Siena's Piazza del Campo where the famous Palio takes place

.... a land of beautiful villas surrounded by Tuscan Cypress; gravel paths crunching under foot; charming villages with a welcoming spirit; tiny Fiats and winding roads that make the Swiss Alps look like child's play.... until next time...

Ciao summertime!

  1. Marvelous! And if I could just hear Andrea Bocelli sing The Prayer in that spot... heaven. My favorite pic... the babe who should be in the stroller followed by the sis who shouldn't!
