.....so, I'm guessing it's pretty obvious by the photos I took today what suits my fancy when it comes to holiday decorating. In other areas of decorating my tastes seem to change ever so slightly over time (and are much "cleaner" and "simpler")....... but not so with Christmas decor..... my delight in an abundance of classic tartans paired with bright red berries, gold accents, boxwood and paperwhites never wavers.
..... it's what I'd imagine Ralph Lauren meets J.Crew for a holiday soiree might be like..... :)
... and here are a few items I wouldn't mind adding to my collection....
Ralph Lauren tartan frame, everlasting mistletoe, faux malachite photo ornament, monogrammed high ball glass, peppermint striped taper, tartan tree skirt, tartan napkin rings

ReplyDeleteI think I "need" some monogrammed glasses for my bar cart. Such pretty plaid ideas:)
ReplyDeletetartan makes me so excited for Christmas. So hope you'll show us your holiday decor....and how the Swiss decorate
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing about how amazing the Christmas markets are around here.... can't wait to check them out. Interested to see how the Europeans decorate too.....so far lots of greenery which I love. I'm off to buy boxwood wreaths tomorrow! :)
DeleteI am a tartan girl too! This is funny - I was looking back at your last years Christmas images just last week for some inspiration. I remembered your use of tartan, berries and traditional style that I love so much. I added a tartan tree skirt last year. I love it!! Thanks for this post & enjoy decorating!
ReplyDeleteMy decorations are all just a mish mash of stuff. I love displaying holiday cards all across a wall, I love to see loved ones near and far every day.
ReplyDeleteI noticed all those pretty plaid pins! :) I've been on the hunt for a plaid with a little bling, maybe gold and silver ~ no luck yet!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my eye out!
DeleteI just enjoyed a weekend of scrapbooking at Lake Cumberland. As a break from the scrapbooking we went outside to shoot real life mistletoe out of a tree. I have it hanging in my doorway into the kitchen. I am about to take it down because you just don't realize how often you pass through there! The kissing in my house is more than anyone can handle!
ReplyDeleteHa! Is there such a thing as too much kissing!? :)
DeleteHad these pics up on the computer. Even the youngest knew these were from Aunt Crissy!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have mostly fair isle Nordic looking decorations, but you've just inspired me to add a little plaid this year!
