Postcards from.....

On our way home from Verona last weekend, we stopped by the small town of Sirmione, Italy on the advice of a local who said the thermal baths there were a "must-do".... and "must-do" we did....  Situated on the largest lake in Italy, Lake Garda, Sirmione has the vibe of a bustling resort town full of boutique hotels, restaurants, shopping and spas in the European fashion.  Known as a health resort dating back to Roman times, we hit the sulphur springs (yes, the smell took some getting used to) at the Aquaria Terme; where we were issued hysterical (yet obligatory) swim caps and white robes..... and while the "thermal bath" felt more like a warm bath to me, the multitude of water jets, alternating hot and cold pools and in water "lounge chairs" did indeed leave us feeling thoroughly relaxed.  I can't wait to go back!

Happy weekend everyone!
