Derby Daze

This is a big week for horse racing fans.... and especially here in Kentucky where the Kentucky Derby will be held this weekend.  Although I've lived in Kentucky for nearly 20 years now, I have yet to actually attend one as it unfortunately falls on the same weekend as dance recital for my girls or the Flying Pig marathon that my husband runs in each year.

Nonetheless, I love to get caught up in the tradition and hoopla of it all..... scientifically selecting a horse based on which name I like best :) or partaking in a mint julep.  In fact,  I'm longing to get something equestrian for our home in Switzerland to pay homage to our roots.  Here is a round-up of my favorite finds in both home decor and gifts:
