Art: Painting the House

By now, most of you know that I am a self-proclaimed sentimental sap family historian.  So it shouldn't surprise you that I love the idea of having a house portrait made as a memento for my girls to have one day of the house they grew up in.  And over the weekend, I was elated to be visiting the delightful blog Annechovie and discover that one of my favorite artists is now offering them.

Charming, no?  I have long admired Anne's style and the prospect of having her paint something personal for me has me dying for Spring to come and my hydrangeas to bloom so I can capture a photo of my home for her.

In the meantime, I've fallen for these great pieces from her Etsy shop.

These notecards of her signature chairs are so pretty, I'd be tempted to frame them and hang them in a grouping

I never tire of ginger jars or this color combination

and these matchboxes would make a darling accompaniment to my favorite Volcano candle as a Valentine or hostess gift!

Love it! (as Oprah would say)
