The chevron pattern seems to be everywhere these days and I, for one, love it. I did a little research and was pleasantly surprised to find that this little upside down V-shaped symbol dates back to the Middle Ages. It means rafter and symbolizes a roof-peak on a house or protection. It historically has been used as an insignia on military and police uniforms..... but has certainly found a following among designers today.
