Postcards from...

Last weekend, my guy and I had the good fortune to spend a few days perched upon a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the small town of Taormina, Sicily..... where the Sicilians (a fiercely independent bunch) treated us to spectacular landscapes; incredible history dating back to 750 B.C. and later the Apostle Paul; amazing foods (think homemade pistachio ravioli and the best cannoli I've ever eaten); crystal clear skies and water; and a hefty dose of chivalry (one of the restaurants that we dined in had a special menu for the ladies sans prices and a gift of a beautiful stone bracelet following dinner)... to name a few.  The thing I will remember the most, however, is the smell!  As crazy as that may sound, this town exudes the fragrance of heavily laden citrus trees and a variety of other flowering plants in bloom (along with gobs of prickly pear)..... in a way that is truly intoxicating

..... it's how I  imagine Heaven will smell.... and let me assure you, it's something to look forward to. :)

Happy Monday!

  6. Just as I remembered! I tried to zoom in on that long blue dress you're wearing, but the collage wouldn't allow. You look beautiful. Sicily was good to you!
