(In) Joy

You know the feeling..... when you are going about your business doing what you normally do and then out of nowhere something triggers a lump in your throat or tears swelling... and the knowledge that something true and bigger than yourself resonates with your soul.  (Perhaps less likely on a Monday morning. :))  For some, it comes when they are out for a run or experiencing something beautiful in nature.... others when they are playing with their children or walking on the beach.  For me, it is often when I'm singing..... and this is what did it yesterday..... a centuries old Irish hymn.....

and suddenly......Joy.....Beauty..... Hope.

I often hear that gardeners have this type of experience when they are tending to their bushes or beds.
This thought makes me smile each morning as I pass this beautiful hedge.

Truth be told..... the rest of the weekend was kind of the pits as we deal with more illness in our home. Isn't it funny (not really) how once we decide on something; it often gets exponentially harder?
I'm going to keep this hymn playing in my head as a prayer this week......

  2. I am pretty sure this song will be in my head for the rest of the day. Love the words and the message it provides. Have a good day and find joy in all that you do.

  4. I hope you all are feeling better. Ethan went to only 2 days of school last week. He went to one day of school after Christmas break and then was home for 2. But it's just 2nd grade so he didn't miss that much.
