Postcards from....

Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  It's hard to believe that it has come and gone.  This time last week, my mom, 2 oldest and I hopped on a plane for a short trip to London.  There, I was reminded how much I love the city..... the history, the people, the colorful pubs and doors, perfectly trimmed boxwoods, the royals.... and a Starbucks on every corner! :)  We all became entranced with Kensington Palace and in addition to its newest inhabitants (Will & Kate, ofcourse)..... we became quite intrigued with the story of Victoria and Albert.....  We even watched "The Young Victoria" on Christmas night.

The city and its stories....quite romantic indeed.....

  1. I can't decide which of these pictures I love the most. Each one just makes me want to go back. Did your girls love it? It was my first trip abroad and holds such a sweet spot in my heart. Love those pillows and the Victoria Albert red dress/garland and pins-what is that from-the museum?

    1. I agree! The girls had a wonderful time.... especially riding on the double decker bus and London Eye, seeing a show and gazing at the crown jewels. The Kensington Palace just finished a big renovation and half of it is dedicated to the stories of Victoria's childhood there as well as her love affair with Albert. There are many personal journal entries and mementos throughout that are quite charming. The red garland was actually Albert's regalia. The entwined V & A were present in various places including the wallpaper in one room..... love! The embroidered pillows were found in a unique display at Kensington as well..... a pillow for each inhabitant lined up along a long bench. Can't wait to go back when I can spend more time and when the gardens are in bloom!
