Well, words simply will not do this past weekend justice. Suffice it to say that my husband orchestrated what can only be described as a "magical" three days..... in Venice, Italy.... with more thoughtfulness, romance and preparation than I would have ever imagined. I loved every minute and will cherish the memory always. I LOVE THIS MAN!
.... and we both loved Venice..... the friendly people, the amazing food, the winding waterways and gondolas...... anniversary or not..... truly the most romantic city I've ever been to and I can't wait to go back. We didn't spend a lot of time shopping but I certainly fell for a few things making for great gifts and souvenirs:
Murano glass wine stoppers
Ripassa Wine
Olive Oil from Osteria Oliva Nera
Hand-made leather journals and bracelets from Pagine e Cuoio
Essi Buranei "S" shaped cookies (resembling the Grand Canal)
A watercolor painting from Walter Berton
and, last but not least, those fantastic lions head door knockers seen all over the city (the symbol of Saint Mark and of "welcome" in the city)
A robust and heartfelt "Grazi!" to my incredible husband.
Venice is truly magical! Your hotel looks AMAZING but more than that, look at your two big smiles! Lucky girl.
ReplyDeletePeggy Guggenheim collection in Venice is in my top five. Did you go? I swear I want to be her in my second life...Well not really but the art part.
Unfortunately..... no..... we didn't have time but one of my main motivations for wanting to go back!
Deletebeautiful city, beautiful couple
ReplyDeleteAwwww...I was wrong - about the door knockers. But not about the GREAT time I knew you would have and the amazing weekend I knew Chris would put together. He gets it done, I tell you! I just might have slept in the lobby of that hotel if it were me. Ha! Show us a picture of where you hang the painting. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your photos, everything looks amazing! And I am with Cindi, want to know where the painting will go too!

ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I were there now - you make me long for a weekend away with my dear husband. We went to Venice years ago and would love to go back. Love all your images.
ReplyDeleteYes, I feel your heart full of gratitude!

ReplyDeleteSounds amazing, lucky you! My son was just there last week with his gf. They are traveling for 3 months around Europe on a dream trip. Happy Anniversary!
